How to Personalize a Memorial SVG in Cricut Design Space

Step-by-step: open the front layer SVG, edit the name plate text, cut, and assemble a personalized memorial shadow box.

How to Personalize a Memorial SVG in Cricut Design Space

Here's exactly how to put your beloved's name on a memorial shadow box:

Step 1: Open the front layer file

Import memorial-design-1-layer-1.svg into Cricut Design Space. This is the front layer with the name plate placeholder.

Step 2: Edit the placeholder text

Double-click the placeholder text in the center. Type your beloved's name. Below it, type their birth and death years. Click Done.

Step 3: Cut all layers

Send all 7 layer SVGs to your Cricut. Cut largest layer first, smallest last. Use cardstock (250-350 gsm).

Step 4: Stack with foam tape

Apply foam tape to the back of each layer. Stack largest to smallest. The voids in upper layers reveal the layers beneath - that's the depth.

Step 5: Mount and display

Mount on backing board. Hang on wall. Your beloved's name is on the front layer - not just "In Loving Memory," but their actual name.

Total time: About an evening. No wet glue, no curing time.
